The Patient Puzzler Sponsorship/Media Kit

About us

The Patient Puzzler Project
The Patient Puzzler, is a 48 page, large print publication distributed free-of-charge to hospital patients and their guests.

We publish quarterly offering our readers many enjoyable hours working and solving professionally crafted puzzles in such categories as: Word-search, Crosswords Sudokus varying in level, as well as a blend of light, informative articles for entertaining reading.

Why advertise when you can sponsor?
What better way to show your corporate responsibility and generosity by partnering with us and sponsoring The Patient Puzzler to help individuals of all walks of life by providing them with a great bed side companion at their time of need.

We receive many letters of thanks, as our publication is much appreciated by the patients who receive them as well as many Nurses and Hospital Volunteers have the pleasure that distribute them. You would be surprised with the ongoing financial hard times; Hospitals provide little or no budget for patient reading materials.

Unlike general interest magazines our publication is not simply skimmed through, the patients actually spend time on every page of every issue and not just discard it after reading an article or two. In fact many patients look forward to taking it home with them after their stay, to complete the puzzles as they continue to recuperate at home.

Reader Profile

Reader Profile

The Patient Puzzler provides advertisers the opportunity to reach highly interested readers of all ages who might not usually have the time available to read magazines. Advertisers also benefit by the fact that unlike general interest magazines, puzzle solvers are likely to spend time on every page of every issue, and not discard it after reading an article or two. Additionally, reader surveys show that they appreciate the advertisers who make the publication possible. On the average, The Patient Puzzler is shared by the patient with their visitors, providing advertisers with even further exposure. In many cases it is taken home with the patient and read in the recovery period as well and has the possibility of being shared with more people within the household, providing advertisers with even further exposure.
In general puzzle magazines are undergoing something of resurgence, thanks in part to Sudoku, the number-square logic game that has swept across newspaper comics pages and airport gift shops in recent years – ever since the puzzle, invented as Number Place by American Howard Garns in 1979, caught on in Japan and imported itself to the U.S. The category is the largest among mainline magazines, outselling women’s, men’s, general or home-oriented publications on newsstands. People want that feeling of satisfaction of putting that last number or letter into that diagram. When you can sit back and say, "I finished that," that feels great.
